PhD in Solid Mechanics, professor
(РИНЦ)
Training
Igor B. Sevostianov completed his education programme at the Solid Mechanics Department, Leningrad State University.
Job Title
Professor of New Mexico State University, the United States.
Scientific Activities
Organizer and chairman of the regular international symposium “Micromechanics of Materials” under ASME auspices.
Prof. Sevostianov has created and developed a new research area in micromechanics - “cross-property connections”. These study results allowed a breakthrough in investigating the effective thermomechanical, electroelastic properties of modern composite materials. He has developed a theory for determining the microstructure geometry, through which the effective properties of materials should be expressed. This allowed the development of analytical micromechanics of materials with non-ellipsoidal inhomogeneity.
Honours & Awards
Fulbright Grant Winner (Fulbright Scholar).
Research Areas
Micromechanics of piezoelastic composites, cross-property connections.
