SOCIAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL ASPECTS OF MODERNIZATION IN RUSSIA

Abstract

The idea on the Russian civilizational tradition specificity as the modernization key factor is prov ed. Only the cou ntries which considered th eir own cultural traditions (Japan, South Korea, China, India) have managed to successfu lly modernize themselves. The modernization of Russia cannot be reduced to the unilateral “liberaliza tion” that does not mean its waiver of democracy.
